Georgia Driver Services Commissioner Spencer Moore Appointed Vice Chair of International Board – On Common Ground News

Spencer R. Moore, Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS), has been appointed First Vice Chair of the International Board of Directors of the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA). AAMVA is a non-profit organization composed of state and provincial officials in the United States and Canada who administer and enforce motor vehicle laws.

The AAMVA International Board governs the association and works to improve safety through motor vehicle administration and law enforcement.

Moore was elected to the International Board of Directors by his peers and has served in a variety of roles. He is positioned to next chair the AAMVA International Board, which will allow Georgia to host the 2024 AAMVA International Convention, which will bring about a thousand motor vehicle administrators to our state.

“I am honored to continue working on the AAMVA International Board – a recognized leading authority on driver and vehicle identification, road safety and related administration and enforcement,” said Moore. “We will work to continue to establish best practices to improve customer service, integrate additional technologies, and maintain the security of personal data, among many other priorities.”

Moore has built a reputation as a national traffic safety expert and gained a wealth of experience as Associate Director of the Georgia Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) before joining DDS in 2012.

Moore also serves on the Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Board, the Georgia State Employee Benefit Council, and the Georgia Driver Education Commission (GDEC).
