Georgia couple convicted of child molestation, MPs say – WSB-TV Channel 2

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Georgia — A man and woman from Grovetown, Columbia County have both been convicted after being charged in connection with a 2021 child molestation investigation.

According to the sheriff’s office, Scot and Teresa Robinson were asked to babysit a family friend’s children while they were on vacation when Mr. Robinson molested their daughter.

Ms Robinson has been charged with involvement in the crime and both were arrested in April 2021.

The underage victim’s parents reported the incident to law enforcement after they returned from their trip.

According to the sheriff’s report, the child victim laid in bed with Mr. Robinson while staying with the couple.

In bed she was molested by Mr. Robinson. Both children, twins, lay in bed with Mr. Robinson while Mrs. Robinson slept alone.

The sheriff’s office report states that the children’s parents knew that Mr. Robinson was a registered sex offender.

He was registered as a sex offender in 1999, according to public records from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.

The children’s parents told officers they knew Mr Robinson was a sex offender but had known him for 20 years at the time. The father told officers he didn’t know why Ms Robinson would leave the children in bed with her husband.

Now both Scot and Teresa Robinson have been sentenced to the following terms:

  • Scot Robinson: Child abuse, 20 years, 15 sentences
  • Teresa Robinson: involved in the commission of a crime, 10 years, 5 sentences
