Bowling Green – Georgia May (Ward) Pruitt, 92, of Bowling Green, KY, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 4th, 2021 at the Southern Kentucky Hospice. A native of Casey County, Kentucky, was born April 14, 1929 to the late Herman and Anna Ora (Wethington) Ward. In addition to her parents, her husband James L. Pruitt precedes her in death; a son Rodger Pruitt; two sisters Ruby Ward Harbin and Virginia Ward Alley; five brothers Eugene, Frank, James Irving, Bobby, and Eddie Ward; two infant siblings; and a granddaughter, Lacey Pruitt McLaughlin. Georgia loved her family, friends, and her church. If you were Georgia’s friend, she thought you were a “friend for life.” She was an avid UK fan who enjoyed gardening, but most of all she enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports and dance. Georgia was the hardest working woman her family has ever known who will be greatly missed by everyone. Her memories are cherished by her son Allan Pruitt; one sibling sister Mary Matthias; two grandsons Matthew and Cody Pruitt; Daughter-in-law Shelia Pruitt; two great-grandchildren Emily Pruitt and Keegan McLaughlin; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, October 8th at 12:00 noon in the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, followed by a funeral in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The visitation will take place on Thursday, October 7th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at JC Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel and on Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Instead of flowers, donations can be made to the Hospice of Southern Kentucky.
