Georgia AG Joins Different States in Calling on OSHA to Completely Take away Vaccination Mandate – WSB-TV Channel 2

ATLANTA – Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr is demanding that the Occupational Safety and Health Administration withdraw its vaccination mandate after the Supreme Court blocked the Biden administration from enforcing the mandate.

“The Biden administration’s dogged attempt to uphold its tough mandate against private companies and their employees will only create further uncertainty for hard-working Georgians,” Carr said in a press release Monday. “This delay is entirely unnecessary and the President should put an end to it once and for all by immediately revoking his illegal residency permit.”

Earlier this month, the majority of the court concluded that the government had exceeded its powers in attempting to impose OSHA’s vaccination or testing rule on US companies with at least 100 employees. More than 80 million people would have been affected, and OSHA had estimated that the rule would save 6,500 lives and prevent 250,000 hospital admissions in six months.

At the same time, the court allows the government to proceed with a vaccination mandate for most healthcare workers in the US

Carr joined several other states’ attorneys general in a letter “to immediately withdraw the[temporary emergency standard]and suspend its efforts to promulgate a similar permanent standard.”

“Both the Supreme Court and the American people have spoken and said loudly that the Biden administration’s attempts to impose this mandate on Americans and businesses are not only wrong but also unconstitutional,” Gov. Brian Kemp said. “Nevertheless, the President continues to look for other avenues for his failed policies. In fact, he says to the people and to the highest court of the country: ‘You err and I will have my way.’ This is unacceptable and Attorney General Carr and I will continue to fight against the federal government’s unlawful disruption of our lives and economies.”

Kemp and Carr have also filed several lawsuits challenging the Biden administration’s vaccination mandates.

President Joe Biden said he was “disappointed that the Supreme Court has decided to block reasonable life-saving requirements for employees of large corporations that are based on both science and law.”

Biden urged companies to implement their own vaccination requirements, noting that a third of Fortune 100 companies have already done so.
