Country music duo Florida Georgia Line canceled their tour due to COVID-19 concerns.
“Although we’ve seen some of you at shows lately, the continued safety of everyone weighs heavily on us,” the band wrote on Twitter on Friday. “We’re so upset to have to cancel this tour, but we love you all and can’t wait to be back when the time is right.”
FGL was scheduled to meet on November 4th at the North Island Credit Union Amphitheater in Chula Vista, November 5th at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, November 12th at the Forum in Inglewood, and November 13th at the Glen Helen Amphitheater on the west coast.
The cancellation comes after several major artists decided to cancel or postpone their tours due to rising cases and uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. Last week, Stevie Nicks announced that she would pull the plug on all of her dates. This week, country megastar Garth Brooks officially canceled all of his arena tours, and rock band Nine Inch Nails and K-pop group BTS did the same.
“We faced one of the toughest decisions we’ve had to make in a while,” said Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard on his personal Instagram account. “Due to the increasing COVID cases and the risk of endangering our family, band and crew, friends and fans, we decided to cancel the autumn tour. It’s heartbreaking because we were so excited to come back out and have a party for the fans. We are so disappointed. “
“The past year and a half have been tough for us,” he continued. “One thing I hope is that, even when it doesn’t make sense, the Lord will be in control of difficult times and know what He’s doing. I’m curious what he’s up to. I love you all. The support and encouragement meant so much. “
Ticket holders will receive refunds to the original payment method used at the time of purchase and no further action is required to obtain a refund.
