After the vote last November, Florida Republicans were euphoric and pounded on the back for running a flawless, flawless, and perfect election across the state. Hooray!
Terms like “gold standard,” “model for the rest of the nation,” and “beacon” have been thrown around to describe Florida’s elections. I just can’t stand that.
Daniel Ruth
And that probably explains why the Republican-dominated legislation in Florida in Tallahassee decided this session to turn this so-called gold standard of democracy into the envy of Cuba.
If former President Donald Trump lost Florida last year, those avant-gardes of freedom up there in Tallahassee would characterize the election as a fraud committed by the dogs of George Soros, Jane Fonda, Saddam Hussein, and probably Joe Biden’s.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who introduces himself as presidential wood simply because a circle of conservative conspiracy theorists foamed at a recent alt-right federal meeting, has said the state cannot “rely on its own.” Resting your laurels ”when it comes to choosing. Just because the November elections were free of fraud or other calamities doesn’t bode well for future elections.
If you’re getting too carried away with all of this campaigning by making it easier for people to vote, it’s only a matter of time before people start thinking, “Hey, this voting material is pretty simple, maybe I’ll cast a vote. ”
And when that happens, all these naive citizens could cast a vote for someone other than a Republican. And if that happens, DeSantis could lose. And if he loses, he may have to go back to work to make a living and may open a law firm with Panhandle Rep. Matt Gaetz.
Nothing good can come of this.
Something had to be done before all of that freedom and freedom got out of hand.
If you really want to do something in Tallahassee, Senator Dennis Baxley, RI Love The Smell of Body Bags in The Morning, is the legislature contact.
Baxley’s track record of ignorance is impressive even by Florida law standards. From promoting the open transportation of unlicensed guns to defending the presence of treasonous Confederate monuments to attempting to blow up the state’s Bright Futures scholarship program, the Crazy Guggenheim of Florida legislation was just the man who did that Waters of Turn carried Florida’s highly admired gold standard in elections to the envy of Myanmar.
And Baxley delivered too!
Right now, Tallahassee is considering laws that will require all voters to request postal ballots more frequently, ban dropboxing, only allow immediate family members to submit postal ballots, and remove any Floridian who has an active request to vote. Postal voting by email as soon as legislation becomes law.
We still have a few weeks until the end of this legislative period. Plenty of time for the Tallahassee gremlins to tinker with and play around with the “Republican Health and Safety Act of 2021”.
After all, Georgia recently signed a voter suppression law that makes it even harder to get a postal vote, prohibits the offering of food or water to anyone queuing to vote, and gives lawmakers more power over that State Electoral Committee admits. Allows lawmakers to suspend local election officials and makes it difficult to extend election times.
Does anyone honestly believe Tallahassee will allow itself to be overtaken by Georgia? Georgia! “Really?” There are standards that have to be met, you know.
Recently, Senator Joe Gruters, who was Trump’s official dancing monkey in Florida in the 2020 election, was interviewed on the public radio’s Florida Round-Up. Gruters is also chairman of the Republican National Committee of the party’s electoral integrity committee. Stop laughing.
In any event, Mr. Election Integrity refused to admit that Joe Biden won the presidency in a free and fair election. Nor could he explain why Florida has had to change anything since its last election went smoothly.
This is what happens in Tallahassee, which is an old word for “Because we can”.
