Farewell Georgia Guidestones – Chronicles

An explosion rocked a memorial in Elberton, Georgia on Wednesday morning. The Georgia Guidestones, which contained engravings of ten strange rules of life in five different languages, were so badly damaged that authorities decided to tear them down entirely. So far, the motives and identities of those responsible for the crime are unknown.

The origin of the Guidestones is strange. They were constructed at the behest of a man named Robert C. Christian, who admittedly used an alias to disguise his identity. Christian, whose identity was never revealed, claimed to represent “a small group of loyal Americans.”

The great granite slabs that stood amidst cow pastures for over four decades became known as “American Stonehenge” or “Stonehenge of the South”. Many speculate that they were designed for astronomical purposes, or to serve as a calendar, compass, or clock. Whatever their intended use, Christian wanted them to be strong enough to withstand “catastrophic events” – ironically given their recent demise.

Many people, especially those on the right, believe that the Georgia Guidestones reveal the secret agenda of the world elite. There is some overlap between globalism and the policies inscribed on the monument; However, they are unlikely to have been created by our ruling class to reveal their hidden agenda. This becomes clear when you take a closer look at the ten guidelines engraved on the Guidestones:

  1. Keep humanity under 500,000,000 in eternal balance with nature.

This policy was understandably interpreted as a call for population control. In fact, the elites’ yearning for the annihilation of humanity is a recurring theme in conspiracy theories. In reality, however, globalists want dramatic population booms in the West through mass immigration.

Self-proclaimed “neoliberal shill” blogger Matthew Yglesias explicitly advocated this in his recent book One Billion Americans. In the book, Yglesias argues that in order for America to compete with other, more populous nations, it must accept more immigrants, expand social services, and subsidize childcare. A billion Americans garnered rave reviews across the board. If our elites were for depopulation, such a book would be roundly condemned.

  1. Manage reproduction wisely – improve fitness and diversity.

The second guiding principle appears to be a call for eugenics, a theme parallel to depopulation. Is that what our ruling class wants? If so, I haven’t seen any evidence of it. Name a program in America that encourages the best and brightest to procreate—I wait. Instead, the welfare state subsidizes reproduction for low-income single mothers. When our elites strive to institutionalize eugenics, they do a stunningly poor job.

  1. Unite humanity with a living new language.

Do our elites want to create a new language? That would be new to me.

One could argue that English, our lingua franca, already plays that role. But English isn’t even the official language of America. Several bills during Trump’s first term aimed to remedy this failure. ProEnglish, an English-language advocacy group based in the United States, is considered an “anti-immigrant hate group” by regime NGOs such as the SPLC.

  1. Rule passion, faith, tradition and all things with moderate reason.

This policy can be interpreted in a number of ways. Reason plays an important role in classical philosophy, Christianity, and Enlightenment thought, although its role is different in each. Regardless, at its core, globalism is about reducing the common man to the level of a slave, both to his passions and to his rulers. The promotion of “moderate sanity” among the masses is staunchly at odds with the agenda of our elites.

  1. Protect people and nations with fair laws and just courts.

What is “fair” and “equitable” in this policy is entirely ambiguous. Perhaps our ruling class considers our legal system fair, but I certainly don’t. They want a system that works for them, not the rest of us.

  1. Let all nations govern internally and resolve external disputes in a world court.

Indeed, the existence of a world government is a key element of globalism. But globalism also entails the usurpation of national sovereignty, so the sixth guideline is not what our elites have in mind.

  1. Avoid petty laws and useless officials.

Small laws and useless officials are the core of the administrative state. Globalism simply could not exist without the interference of bureaucrats, civil rights laws, and frivolous regulations.

  1. Balance personal rights and social obligations.

This directive is also ambiguous. However, I want to believe that I speak for all conservatives when I say that our current system is completely at odds with personal rights. As for the social duties, the important ones – starting a family, loyalty to the fatherland and devotion to God – are being actively attacked by our ruling class.

  1. Appreciate truth, beauty, love – seek harmony with the infinite.

Truth, beauty and love – not priorities for our ruling class, which enjoins falsehood, promotes transgenderism and attacks the traditional family.

  1. Don’t be a cancer on earth – give nature space – leave nature space.

The tenth guiding principle appears to be a call for environmental protection, some forms of which are favored by our ruling class. Yet the same elites who want us to reduce our “carbon footprint” support mass immigration to first world countries, which I don’t think shows any serious concern for the environment.

With that in mind, I find it hard to believe that the Guidestones reveal the real plans of our ruling class. There are significant differences between the ten prohibitions engraved on the sides of the monument and the agenda of our elites. Some, like those on the danger of petty laws and useless officials, are sure to appeal to conservatives. However, this is not to defend the ten guidelines as most of them are dubious at best. The Guidestones remain enigmatic. Were they an elaborate prank? Was Robert C. Christian – a name that certainly refers to the mythical founder of the Rosicrucian occult movement, Christian Rosenkreuz – simply a wealthy eccentric who wished to share his vision with the world? We may never know. Still, we can conclude that the agenda engraved on its pillars is separate from that of our globalist ruling class.
