FT. LAUDERDALE, Florida. Georgia Offensive Coordinator Todd Monken and five Bulldog offensive players spoke to reporters Tuesday ahead of a match with No. 2 Michigan at the Capital One Orange Bowl. Below, Dawgs247 shares in unedited format which is Stetson Bennett’s senior quarterback, junior fourth year Zamir White, junior senior James Cook, Kearis Jackson junior fourth year, and John. fourth year junior tight end FitzPatrick had to say.
Q. When did you realize that a guy like Brock Bowers, a newbie, a special player, and a breakout player could be for you because he really was perhaps the team’s greatest weapon, with many injuries on the receiver?
STETSON BENNETT: “I don’t know, I think it was more of a progressive thing for me. There were a couple of times that summer was training and we had these plyo boxes and you saw him jumping up there. But you don’t know if he’s just a freak athlete and he will be able to process things quickly enough to play this year, and then over time you will see that he is a freak athlete and can process things quickly enough.
“You always – everyone we recruit into the skill positions is athletic enough and talented enough to do what they’ve done. I think where he shines the most is how slowly the game is coming for him and how footballing he is, everything that just flashed. It was more of a progressive thing over time. “
