Tim Adside is proud to be a go-to guy. From security repairs to landscaping to keeping our streets clean, he’s up for it, and that’s why he’s our Staff Spotlight this week.
Tim’s professional life began with a stay at the old Crown Plaza Hotel while he was in high school, but Tim decided he’d rather be outside. He began his career with the City of Macon 20 years ago in the Public Works Department as a service officer. Now, as a Crew Leader in our Parks & Beautification department, he takes the department’s service staff to do their job. He tells them what’s on the agenda for the day and helps protect them.
“One of the most important things I do, is answering SeeClickFix tickets and making sure we act safely and in a timely manner,” says Tim. “That could include clearing rights of way, mowing, removing overhanging branches and tidying up litter. We also do a lot of landscaping. When the team in the office knows I’m good at something, they assign it to me. I’m proud of that!”
As you walk around Downtown Macon, you are sure to see some of Tim’s favorite works that he has made. “I would say, I planted 85% of the trees, shrubs and landscaping you see downtown. I love this part of the job. Do the work and then see our beautiful city.”
Outside the office, Tim is a family man who loves music. He is married and has three children aged 12, 7 and 3. His family enjoys going to church and spending time just having fun. Tim is also a drummer who takes the beat everywhere.
“I love what I do because I get to meet so many people. I’m always helping out at events like Bragg Jam, Cherry Blossom Festival, Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful Community Cleanups — I’ve become known as the ‘Take-Care Guy’ and that makes me feel good.”
Tim, we appreciate your diligence in making Macon look good. Happy to have you on #teammaconbibb!
