An “armed and dangerous” suspected murderer wanted for shooting a witness to another murder is at large in north Georgia.
Demetrius Nicholas was last seen running into the woods in the Stone Mountain area outside Atlanta when he fired a hail of gunfire at invading officers, the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office said.
According to authorities, an officer was grazed by either a bullet or flying glass shards from the car in which he was riding. He was treated at a local hospital and released.

Law enforcement officers from nearly a dozen local, state and federal agencies converged on the area in search of Nicholas, but eventually cleared the area before finding the suspected killer.
“At this time, he is still at large and is expected to face murder charges in addition to the original warrant,” the department said.
“The suspect is still considered armed and dangerous.”
According to WSBTV, Nicholas is wanted for the June 2022 murder of Timberre Mim, who was found dead in the driveway of an apartment complex in Stone Mountain.
Neighbors said they heard eight or nine shots before her body was found just after 5:30 a.m
Officials said Mim was a possible witness to a murder that occurred a week earlier at a nearby gas station.
The murdered man was also a resident of the apartment complex, police said.
