EDWARDSVILLE, IL – Authorities have identified a woman who was found dead at an intersection in Edwardsville on Saturday.
According to Captain David Vucich, deputy commander of Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis, a woman’s body was on Illinois Route 143 and Goshen Road just before 5:50 a.m.
On Sunday, the woman was identified as Tykeisha Dixon, 33, from Roswell, Georgia. While police have not given a cause of death, a foul is suspected due to Dixon’s injuries.
Dixon was reported missing by the family on May 8th. She is said to have been with her husband, 39-year-old Luther Henderson Jr. from Roswell, Georgia.
Captain Vucich said Henderson was still missing.
Investigators said there was no evidence that Dixon or Henderson had any connection with Madison County, Illinois.
Vucich said the Major Case Squad was working with law enforcement in Georgia on the investigation.
