A: There is no law that says you may not get bail if you are on parole at the time of the new charges. In my experience, many judges will focus on the new indictment. Specifically, it is about whether it is a criminal offense or a misdemeanor. Also, many judges naturally refuse bail until the (potential) probation violation is resolved.

However, your chances of getting bail are drastically reduced when you are on probation.
