(ATLANTA, GA, March 12, 2024) – At Wednesday March 13th CAIR-Georgia, Georgia Latino Alliance for Human Rights (GLAHR), Project South and a large coalition of organizations plan to hold a press conference urging policymakers to reconsider and repeal anti-immigrant laws rather than promote inclusion in Georgia .
In addition to CAIR-Georgia, GLAHR and Project South, the coalition includes GA Familias Unidas, Athens Against Apartheid, Community Movement Builders, Migrant Equity South East, Asian Americans Advancing Justice, Atlanta Multifaith Coalition for Palestine, ATL-DSA, Community Estrella, El Refugio, IUPAT DC77, Alabama Coalition for Immigrant Justice, Friends of the Congo and PSL-Atlanta.
Keynote speakers at the rally will include representatives from immigrant advocacy groups, religious coalitions and community leaders. Participants will share personal stories, compelling data, and expert insights to highlight the negative consequences of policies such as HB 1105, HB 301, SB 420, SB 569, and SR 721.
