Body of missing Georgia mother Imani Roberson found, husband charged with murder

Police investigating the disappearance of Georgia native Imani Roberson have arrested her husband Donell Anderson and charged him with murder.

The Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office held a news conference Saturday morning to update the case after Roberson’s body was found. Roberson, a 29-year-old mother of four, has been missing for almost three weeks.

“It was clear that a crime was evident in the disappearance,” said Sheriff Eric Levett.

Levett said Roberson was last seen by her mother on July 16, after having dinner with her four children at her home. After leaving her mother’s home, Roberson returned home with two of her children, a three-year-old and a one-month-old baby, while two older children spent the night with their grandmother. Roberson drove down Plantation Boulevard in her white Mazda SUV.

Imani Roberson, a 29-year-old mother of four, has been missing since July 17. Her body was found on Friday, police confirmed.

The next day, after making several unsuccessful attempts to contact her daughter and becoming concerned, her mother went to Roberson’s home. The grandmother found no one in the house and called the police to report her daughter missing.

Rockdale County Sheriff Eric Levett briefs reporters on the investigation into the disappearance of Imani Roberson. Levett announced that Roberson’s body has been found and her husband, Donell Anderson, is facing murder charges.

On July 27, police found Roberson’s car in a wooded area off Camp Creek Parkway near Union Road in Atlanta. The car was reportedly burned from the inside out. Ring camera video obtained by FOX 5 Atlanta from a house across the street from Roberson’s office showed the vehicle rapidly pulling out of the driveway on the day of her disappearance.

Investigations led police to a home shared by Roberson and her husband, Donell Anderson.

“This investigation resulted in us issuing multiple search warrants for homes, including our victim’s home, a car and cell phones,” Levett said. “Furthermore, we spoke to several people and collected a body of evidence that suggests there was also blood at our victim’s home and other locations, which I will not elaborate on.”

The sheriff said investigators found Roberson’s body Friday morning using a K-9 carcass. The body matched a description given by Roberson, including tattoos that matched photos of her family.

A SWAT team dispatched by the sheriff’s office arrested Anderson at an Atlanta apartment on Friday. He is charged with aggravated murder, first degree murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm in the commission of a crime.

Levett told reporters the investigation was ongoing and more people could be charged.
