Bernard Brody is an accomplished trial attorney in Georgia with a proven track record of solving complex criminal cases. He is particularly notable for his ability to defend and handle some of the toughest sex crime cases in Georgia. He has been recognized by Georgia Trend Magazine as one of Georgia’s legal elite and by Atlanta Magazine’s Super Lawyers for his courtroom work and tireless work ethic, which has resulted in countless pre-trial dismissals. Bernard is a frequent speaker at seminars for trial attorneys in Georgia on topics such as sex crime allegations, computer forensics, appellate representation and federal asset confiscation. He has worked on a number of high profile cases that have appeared on television and radio and has been interviewed by both local and national media. He is also the editor of Georgia Sex Offense Law, an online reference for attorneys and the public that discusses legal issues affecting the defense of persons accused of sex offenses in Georgia. Prior to founding the firm, Bernard was a partner in the law firm of Pate & Brody, which had a nationwide criminal defense practice with offices in Atlanta, Macon, Madison and Savannah. During this time, Bernard worked cases throughout Georgia and the southeastern states, successfully solving state and federal charges in South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi and Arkansas. Bernard has handled well over 500 criminal cases, most of which involved serious allegations of sex crimes. He has served on grand juries throughout the Atlanta area and in small towns throughout Georgia. He has also served over 50 appeals in both state and federal courts. Bernard received his criminology degree from the University of Maryland and graduated with honors from the University of Hofstra School of Law, where he was the only student in his class to serve on both the law review and the school’s moot court team was selected.
