Beauty Couch Murder: Friend arrested for murder of Instagram influencer Beauty Couch in Georgia

Beauty Couch’s boyfriend, an Instagram influencer, has been arrested and charged with murder after her body was discovered near a charred vehicle in Georgia last week. Eugene Louis-Jocques, 21, was taken into custody by the St. Tammany Township Sheriff’s Office, the New York Post reported. He is charged with murder, aggravated assault and arson. Louis-Jocques was reportedly pulled over by police forces near Slidell around 4:40 p.m. Friday afternoon.
“The message should be that we don’t treat kindly people who think they can commit a crime elsewhere and are trying to hide out in St. Tammany Parish,” Sheriff Randy Smith said in a statement.
“We were happy to help our colleagues in Georgia locate this suspect and hold him in custody so he can be brought to justice and Miss Couch’s family can begin to separate at this difficult time.”
Louis-Jocques is currently being held at the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Facility awaiting extradition to Cobb County, Georgia.
Who was Beauty Couch?
Beauty Couch, also known as Beauty Katera, has more than 155,000 followers on Instagram. Her posts often featured videos of her dancing while putting on roller skates. Earlier this month, she taught her first ice skating class and made what appeared to be a nod to her boyfriend in her most recent Instagram post, which featured a series of bikini photos. The caption of the post read, “He mentioned I look gorgeous in red — you might as well call me ‘seductive in red.'”

On August 23, just after noon, the Austell Fire Department received a bush fire report. Upon arrival, emergency services found a burning vehicle; However, the body was not immediately visible. Austell police were subsequently informed by Couch’s family that she was driving the vehicle and had been missing since the morning before.
Based on this information, the police revisited the vehicle’s location and discovered Couch’s body in the wooded area. Given the circumstances, the Austell Police Department sought the involvement of the Cobb County Police Department, who later investigated the case as a homicide.
