BIBB COUNTY, Ga. – A 17-year-old boy is charged with attempted robbery in a supermarket in central Georgia as an adult.
The Bibb County sheriff’s office said Tyrek Blackshear was at the Mercer Food Mart in Macon trying to play a slot machine when he was approached by a worker asking for ID. Then MPs said Blackshear pulled out a gun and asked for cash from the cash register.
The worker was able to lock himself behind a protective plexiglass counter and forced Blackshear to leave the shop empty-handed.
When MPs got to the store, they received a description of Blackshear and began looking for the suspect. Authorities later found Blackshear, and a toy gun they said was used in the attempted robbery along the 1,600 block of North Atwood Drive.
